Two of Cornwalls biggest football teams go head to head in a local derby as Helston Athletic host Falmouth Town at Kellaway Park in the South West Peninsula League.

Helston go into the game in fine form, having won their last 13 games in all competitions.

Their electric start to the season has seen them rocket up the league into 2nd place. Only five points behind leaders St Austell who have played four more games.

They are boosted by an impressive 3-1 win against Mousehole in midweek, which saw striker Mark Goldsworthy bag his 20th goal of the season.

Steve Massey quote here: “Even if Falmouth had been bottom of the league and not won a game we know its going to be a difficult game.

“It is going to be hostile on and off the pitch, the atmosphere is going to be fantastic we will be expecting a few hundred people coming to watch and it is going to be a great occasion.

“We are very much looking forward to it”.

Visitors Falmouth Town are unbeaten in 8 games, which has seen them rise to 9th in the table after a sluggish start to the season.

Their last defeat was a 2-1 defeat to Helston in September so they will be out for revenge.

It promises to be an exciting fixture.
