Lecturers at Exeter University have been on strike over proposed pension cuts.

Over 60 staff at the Penryn Campus have taken industrial action which is planned to continue for the next two weeks.

The cuts mean that lecturers are at risk of losing up to £10,000 per year of their retirement, leading to nationwide action.

Sarah Bulmer, UCU Representative for Penryn and Exeter Campus said: “They need to go back to the negotiating table and they need to come up with something that is decent and that is fair.”

Exeter University were given an opportunity to reply but had not provided Truthfal with a statement at the time of going to press.
In a message to students on its website, Exeter University said: “We understand the uncertainty this proposed action may cause and we would like to reassure you that we are doing all we can to ensure your academic outcomes are not affected.”
