It’s that time of year again. The magic and excitement of Christmas and New Years is over for another year, which means we’re all left impatiently counting down the days for the long-awaited arrival of summer.

Fear not though for February presents us with a glimmer into this year’s ‘festival fever’, as UK festivals across the country release line-ups and the opportunity to bag yourself the cheapest tickets.

Truthfal highlights four popular music festivals that are taking place in Cornwall this summer.


1. MASKED BALL (25th-27th May 2018)

A student favourite means that the Masked Ball sees in the end of of deadlines and kicks of the summer with a bang. Set on the scenic, beachy cliffs of Porthleven, the festival has announced that this year there will be over 80 acts performing over multiple venues. Some of which include the likes of Tom Chapman, Ere Wax, DJ Griff, Mr Thing and French Kiss. Tier 1 tickets are currently on sale at £60 (Saturday Ball Ticket) and £85 (Weekend Ticket). 2. TUNES IN THE DUNES (8th-10th June 2018)

This year Tune in the Dunes is set across four stages between The Watering Hole and the end of Perranporth beach. Each stage will deliver its own atmosphere and unique acts performing across the weekend. Acts announced so far include Protoje, The Skints, UB40 ft. Ali Astro and Mickey, Gabrielle Aplin, Pixie Lott and Fisherman Friends. Earlybird weekend tickets are on sale for £75 and earlybird day tickets between £30-40. After party tickets are also available for purchase between £12-13.


3. LEOPALLOOZA (27th-29th July 2018)

Recognised as being Cornwall’s multi-award winning independent festival, Leopallooza returns for the twelfth time, bringing over 100 of the most exciting new and established bands, DJs and solo artists to the South-West coast. Camping is free, food and drink are fairly priced, and the party game is strong. The full 2018 line-up is yet to be released, but 2017 appearances at the festival included performances from Sunset Sons, Gabrielle Aplin, Clean Cut Kid, The Cribs and The Japanese House. Student discounted tickets are currently priced at £81.


4. BOARDMASTERS (8th-12th August 2018)

Without a doubt, Cornwall’s most recognised and appreciated festival, Boardmasters, returns for another year. Bringing some of the biggest acts in the music industry to this side of the coast, 2018 will welcome the likes of Catfish And The Bottlemen, Everything Everything, Kano, MK, Rae Morris, The Chemical Brothers, Years & Years, Annie Mac, Shy FX Soundsystem, George Ezra, Rag N’ Bone Man, Craig David, Danny Howard and Declan McKenna. Weekend tickets are being sold at £154 and day tickets are priced from £59-£69, so get them before the third tier tickets are released and prices go up.
