With two-thirds of women having been a victim of street harassment, Truthfal’s Danielle Sheed investigates whether catcalling, wolf-whistling and unwanted comments should be considered a hate crime.

Research unveiled by ‘Plan UK has found young girls that were ‘cat called’ also experienced touching or invasions of their own personal space.’ They have called from women to fight back against this and in their own words respond with ‘It’s not okay’.

However, MP’s say this is not enough and are now calling on the government to take action to tackle it. This may lead to it being classified as a hate crime which accompanies its own serious consequences.
