Irene Mendez Cruz thinks that is ridiculous to consider animals as objects and that they need protection, starting by recognising that they have feelings and emotions.

Recently MPs have decided not to transfer the EU legislation, which acknowledges that animals feel pain and emotions, into the EU Withdrawal Bill. This has caused a massive outcry from the public, who advocates for animal protection. However, Cornish MPs defended their decision saying that the UK law already protects animals. In addition, Michael Gove states that the government will make all the necessary changes in the UK law to recognise that animals are sentient beings.
