The Tin Can Van project was launched by two of Falmouth’s own students, Ryan Falshaw and Cherry Heaven with the aim of clothing and feeding the homeless across Cornwall.

The aim is to make it as easy as possible for people to donate by personally collecting all donations and delivering them to those in need.

Co-founder of The Tin Can Van, Cherry Heaven told Truthfal: “We want to cut out the middle-man of you having to go out of your way to donate cause I know that everyone around here wants to help but they don’t necessarily have the time to.”

This project comes at a good time, as last year saw a dramatic increase in the number of rough sleepers in Cornwall. There were an estimated 65 people sleeping in the streets of Cornwall in 2016, though local homeless charities believe the number could be significantly higher and set to rise.
