Truro City put four goals past Whitehawk to earn a much-needed win at Treyew Road.

A double by Andrew ‘Rocky’ Neal and strikes by Tyler Harvey and Cody Cooke saw the White Tigers take away a much-needed three points that pulled them further away from the relegation zone.

The win sees Truro leapfrog Whitehawk in the National League South table, moving them up to 17th, five points clear of the bottom three.

Whitehawk FC looked dominant at the start of the first half and an early scramble in the Truro box led to the ball being cleared off the line.

Truro fought back, taking the lead in the 27th minute. Neal battled well for the ball eventually drilling it with his right foot low past the Whitehawk keeper.

However the home side held on to the lead for just one minute. A Whitehawk cross from the left wing found its way into the box and a poor defensive header from Truro’s Ben Gerring lobbed his own keeper.

Truro did find a way past the Whitehawk defence again late in the first half when Harvey found himself on the end of a through-ball which he slotted into the far corner.

Truro came out in charge in the second half and Neal extended their lead in the 52nd minute after Stewart Yetton’s shot was saved. The Whitehawk keeper was unable to hold on to the ball and Neal was there to make it 3-1.

Then a cross from the right wing found its way to the far post where Cooke calmly played the ball back across the keeper as he scrambled towards his near post, giving Truro their fourth.

Whitehawk pulled back a late consolation goal when Daniel Mills found the back of the net with an impressive, acrobatic shot.
